Good Practice- Obtaining support from various government departments in Jhansi



Jhansi diocese organized launching of ADHIKAR programme in Dharbatiyavu village of Vijaygarh Grama Panchayat in Bangra block in Jhansi district on 5th June 2012 at 11 am. Rt. Rev. Frederick D’souza, Bishop of Jhansi diocese inaugurated the programme in the auspicious presence of Fr.Peter Parapullil, Vicar General, Mr.Devend Patel , President of Vijaygarh Panchayat, Dr.Vijay Singh, Veterinary Doctor, Dr.Ram Kumar Veterinary Doctor Mrs.Deepu Chouhan , ICDS officer and Mr.P.D.Gautam, MGNREGA District Officer.  Around 150 people participated in the programme and obtained information on ADHIKAR project.

Fr Sebastian, JCSS director  introduced  ADHIKAR project with a special focus on outcomes, outputs and activities to the community. Mr.Devend Patel, Panchayat President assured his cooperation to implement the  ADHIKAR  Project in the target villages. Anganwadi Teacher, Supervisor and Mate of MGNREGA of Dharbatiyavu village etc.were  also present in the inauguration ceremony. 

Dr Ram Kumar, Veterinary doctor made a deliberation on significance of vaccination for livestock and asked community to change the attitude in favor of promoting the same. Moreover, he pointed out on fodder cultivation, artificial insemination and more productivity of livestock.
Mrs. Deepu Chouhan, ICDS Block Project Officer made a detailed presentation on ICDC schemes with a special focus on distribution of nutrition supplement programme. She extended possible collaboration with JCSS for awareness generation and fruitful implementation of ICDS programme in the operational areas.

 Fr. Peter Parapullil, Vicar General of Jhansi diocese, gave a motivational speech and he acknowledged the contribution of all the government departments for extending possible collaboration to JCSS with aim to bring positive changes in the life of the poorest of poor. He also mentioned that ADHIKAR project is supported by CARITAS India and it is mainly working with Right Based Approach to make the people more strong by gaining the knowledge and information to demand their rights and entitlements.

Mr.G.P.Gautam, District MGNREGA officer, explained on MGNREGA and its provisions in brief. He also briefed about the pension schemes and other schemes like vocational training for youth etc. which is implementing under District Rural Development Authority. He assured his possible cooperation to reach these schemes to the target people of the project area.

  • Mr.Anuj Kumar Jha IAS, Chief Development Officer of Jhansi issued a letter to district government officials to offer guidance and support to implement ADHIKAR project in Jhansi district.
